Tough Tacklers
I have been playing in the Premier League for eight seasons now and I have come up against some tenacious opponents. I have been lucky enough to appear in countless Merseyside derbies over the years and, believe me, they can become extremely fiesty! The heat of the ocassion and the adrenline of the players and the fans is absolutely incredible on Derby Day and I feel truly honoured to have appeared in so many for the Toffees.
I have also been fortunate to play against some unbelievably talented – yet tough – players during my international career. Playing in the World Cup, and even in qualifying, I have been involved in a number of games with extremely high stakes and I love getting stuck in and have had some great physical battles over the years with opposing players.
I like to see myself as a tough-tackling player so I personally enjoy these battles out on the pitch, so long as they don’t get out of hand and risk injury. I have never been one for pulling out of a tackle and the physical aspect of the Premier League is a contributing factor to making it the best league in the world.
