January 2012 Report
In January 2012 The Tim Cahill Coaching Clinics visited Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra and a great time was had by all.
Our experienced set of coaches took Tim Cahill’s unique coaching program outside of Sydney for the first time and we have had some fantastic feedback.
The children each had 3 hour sessions coaching different fundamental aspects of the game. Each day of the clinics saw the children warm up with our agility session using our ladders and hurdles practices. Focusing on their technique on each of the different movements the children were working on their pace and agility. Following this was a series of exercises centred on ball feeling and manipulation, before moving onto more technical work and skill in our final practice session. Regular hydration breaks were factored into the sessions, this was essential in keeping the children’s (and coaches) energy levels up - particularly in Newcastle where temperatures hit 30 degrees.
Every day finished with mini World Cup’s to test the children in what they had learned using it in a match situation. It was fantastic to see the improvement in each child in just 3 days!
The enjoyment had by both parents and children at each of our January clinics is shown in the feedback pages and we hope to see and coach some new faces in June!
