Tim Cahill is an Everton and Australian soccer player and one of the stars of the Socceroo’s golden generation. Cahill, not content with his success on the pitch, is committed to helping the next generation of Australian soccer players prosper. On April 5th 2011 The Tim Cahill Coaching Clinics were founded and were launched in Sydney later that year. The success and enjoyment that came from these clinics encouraged Cahill to produce a long term plan to improving the coaching of youth soccer in Australia; Tim Cahill Coaching Clinics are committed to doing this. Our aim is to introduce children to soccer and develop their interest and talent, ensuring our clinics have an overriding sense of fun from start to finish.
Our Mission Statement
“Increase participation and develop talent to maximise the potential of Australian Soccer.”
Tim Cahill Coaching Clinics provide boys and girls with an opportunity to learn the fundamental skills that are needed at all levels of soccer, from participation to the professional game. Well educated coaches will help children improve both their soccer and life skills at our clinics.
- Our expert coaching development program improves the technical ability of any player; This is done using fundamental drills that can be seen in academies right the way through to a first team training session.
- Improvements can be seen in as little as three days.
- Learn the importance of healthy living; correct nutrition is vital to any premiership soccer player and children are encouraged to eat healthily in academies across the UK. Improvement off the pitch matches the importance of improvement on the pitch.
- Learn about fitness and injury prevention; This will improve the quality of your child’s soccer. Our coaches make children aware of the correct exercises before and after a match, ensuring children can perform to their best in every game.
The Tim Cahill Coaching Clinics are focused on building a strong base of well-educated coaches who are commited to bring quality coaching in an enjoyable fashion. This style of coaching will help nurture the talent of youth soccer throughout Australia.
The Current Problem
Some see Australia as losing its competitive sporting edge, a viewpoint that is shared by the Australian Sports commission;
“We are in danger of losing the momentum created in the lead up to and during the 2000 Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In the international sporting arena Australia’s innovative systems and practices that have previously enabled us to ‘punch above ourweight’, are not keeping pace with competing nations’ efforts and we are rapidly losing our highly coveted competitive edge.
The active lifestyle that has played a significant role in establishing our nation’s identity, culture and international sporting reputation is being challenged by the demands of modern life and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, particularly amongst our children. In a recent report 17% of Australian children (5–17 years) were overweight and nearly 8% were obese.”

Our clinics will offer an enjoyable way for children to improve their talent as well as keeping healthy and active. Aiming our clinics at children as young as 5 years old will improve children's fundamental movement skills and will develop these each year.
Grassroots is the future of Australian soccer.
